I used a small multi tool screwdriver set and a small and very sharp wood chisel. Two of the cam bolts would not set into the routed holes so had to chisel them out so they would be flush. It helps to put the bottom and sides up first. Also had to remove sticker glue with olive oil. The cabinet is kinda dark for display and wish the shelves adjusted more. It's heavy and we will mount on wall studs. The wood is thick and the finish doesn't seem to scratch easy. It's tight so no dust. Might buy another one.
